Works in Progress

Juice Pouch, Oil on Canvas 20x24”

This painting has slowly been coming along! So far I’m happy with how it’s turning out but there is still much to be done. Work has been extra busy as Feuerman Studios prepares for an upcoming show in Rome, and extra hours are needed at work to make the show deadline. I also admit, that a NYC apartment has not lent to the best painting space for me, and that has been hurting my motivation to work on my stuff when I do have the time. However, I’ve been brainstorming ways to improve this situation, which hopefully leads to an environment that helps me get in my little studio corner more!

I’m excited to say that I’ve decided to make this piece one of the five that I will be submitting to the Hashtag Kalakar Global Arts and Painting competition! It’s a unique chance for both emerging and experienced artists to gain international exposure and build community. Final works are due this October and I look forward to this opportunity to get my art out there more.

Even with my limited painting time, I’ve been putting a lot of thought into my next creations. The three images above are the driving inspirations behind what I want my next works to be. From these, I’m beginning to imagine a whole new body of work, born as a subdivision of my previous capstone show Golden Hour. Ideally, these future paintings will also be included in my Hashtag Kalakaar submission, and I’ll be working on them in tangent with some of my other currently unfinished works such as The Couch and The Lover’s Kiss. I’ve remembered that part of what drives my success as an artist is working on multiple paintings at once, and to help avoid painting slumps I’d like to get back into the habit of hopping between different projects. More details to come on this new body of work in the next couple of months!

In preparation for all these new things I want to do, I’ve also gotten back into the practice of stretching my own canvases. The results are always so much better than store-bought canvases, not to mention how rewarding and satisfying it is. For one of my paintings, I’m planning on going bigger than I’ve ever gone before. To accomplish this I’m planning on pinning the unstretched canvas on my apartment wall and then pulling the canvas over the bars once it’s done. In the long run, this will make the work easier to store but I’ve never stretched my canvas after the fact, and the prospect makes me slightly nervous I’ll ruin the piece.

ZODIAC: The Mysterious Power of the Creative

April 30, 2025 - January 11, 2026

I’m so excited to announce my involvement in the Medici Museum of Art's upcoming exhibition, Zodiac: The Mysterious Power of the Creative! The show features works by emerging and established artists exploring astrology through sculpture, painting, and multimedia. Rather than focusing on specific zodiac signs, the exhibition reflects a broader engagement with celestial forces and spiritual intuition. My piece Thursday Afternoon will be hanging for sale in the museum until next January.

This debut exhibition also marks a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between the Medici Museum of Art and the Carole A. Feuerman Sculpture Foundation. On July 10, the event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the unveiling of Justice, a monumental bronze sculpture donated by Feuerman, which has launched a new public sculpture garden on the museum’s front lawn, featuring works by major international artists.

Outreach

I’ve been spending some of my recent weekends exploring Washington Square Park. It’s a great hub of art activity and I’ve been able to connect with some really talented artists who have had a lot of success in their respective fields. As an attempt to be more involved, a goal of mine is to start bringing my work to Washington Square as well, laying out prints of my paintings to get more eyes on my work and start building some more serious artist relations.

My close friend Oritro Karim is one of these talented artists. As an Illustrator based in NYC, his work ranges from digital art to gouache and acrylic. He specializes in self-portraiture and reflects his own life experiences into his work. An example of one of his illustrations is shown to the left. He and I plan to go to Washington Square Park together as we are both working towards similar artistic goals. You can check out more of his stuff on Instagram @artritro.
