<image:title>Newsletter - June Newsletter - Juice Pouch, Oil on Canvas 20x24”</image:title>
<image:caption>This painting has slowly been coming along! So far I’m happy with how it’s turning out but there is still much to be done. Work has been extra busy as Feuerman Studios prepares for an upcoming show in Rome, and extra hours are needed at work to make the show deadline. I also admit, that a NYC apartment has not lent to the best painting space for me, and that has been hurting my motivation to work on my stuff when I do have the time. However, I’ve been brainstorming ways to improve this situation, which hopefully leads to an environment that helps me get in my little studio corner more! I’m excited to say that I’ve decided to make this piece one of the five that I will be submitting to the Hashtag Kalakar Global Arts and Painting competition! It’s a unique chance for both emerging and experienced artists to gain international exposure and build community. Final works are due this October and I look forward to this opportunity to get my art out there more. https://www.hashtagkalakar.com/global-arts-and-painting-competition</image:caption>

<image:caption>I’m so excited to announce my involvement in the Medici Museum of Art's upcoming exhibition, Zodiac: The Mysterious Power of the Creative! The show features works by emerging and established artists exploring astrology through sculpture, painting, and multimedia. Rather than focusing on specific zodiac signs, the exhibition reflects a broader engagement with celestial forces and spiritual intuition. My piece Thursday Afternoon will be hanging for sale in the museum until next January. This debut exhibition also marks a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between the Medici Museum of Art and the Carole A. Feuerman Sculpture Foundation. On July 10, the event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the unveiling of Justice, a monumental bronze sculpture donated by Feuerman, which has launched a new public sculpture garden on the museum’s front lawn, featuring works by major international artists. https://www.medicimuseum.art/2025-zodiac-exhibition</image:caption>

He specializes in self-portraiture and reflects his own life experiences into his work. An example of one of his illustrations is shown to the left. He and I plan to go to Washington Square Park together as we are both working towards similar artistic goals. You can check out more of his stuff on Instagram @artritro.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I’ve been spending some of my recent weekends exploring Washington Square Park. It’s a great hub of art activity and I’ve been able to connect with some really talented artists who have had a lot of success in their respective fields. As an attempt to be more involved, a goal of mine is to start bringing my work to Washington Square as well, laying out prints of my paintings to get more eyes on my work and start building some more serious artist relations.</image:caption>

<image:caption>In preparation for all these new things I want to do, I’ve also gotten back into the practice of stretching my own canvases. The results are always so much better than store-bought canvases, not to mention how rewarding and satisfying it is. For one of my paintings, I’m planning on going bigger than I’ve ever gone before. To accomplish this I’m planning on pinning the unstretched canvas on my apartment wall and then pulling the canvas over the bars once it’s done. In the long run, this will make the work easier to store but I’ve never stretched my canvas after the fact, and the prospect makes me slightly nervous I’ll ruin the piece.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I felt honored to be interviewed by the Visual Art Journal this past January — an online platform based in the Netherlands dedicated to promoting emerging artists. I submitted a handful of pieces to their open artist call back in November and was so excited when I learned I’d been chosen to be part of their next publication! Based on the pieces I sent in, the Magazine generated several questions designed specifically to dissect my artistic background and process. Not only did it help me start getting my paintings out there, but it also provided me with a new opportunity to reflect on my work using the written word. My interview is posted on their website and included in the 17th Edition of their Art Magazine alongside many other talented artists! Link: https://visualartjournal.com/</image:caption>

<image:title>Newsletter - March Newsletter - Juice Pouch, Oil on Canvas 20x24”</image:title>
<image:caption>I know… this painting should be done by now. Along with others. As I’ve settled into the new job and dealt with moving into a new apartment, I’ve been struggling to develop a new painting routine. However, now that the dust has settled, paintings will once again start rolling out! I will finally finish those few pieces I’ve put on hold, and I have a few more ideas that I’m anxious to start! The next newsletter will have more to report in this regard. With Juice Pouch, unfortunately it was damaged in the move, tearing in three different places. I had a slight set back as I restored the holes, but am now back on track and have started in on the skin. I’m experimenting with how I lay down the paint, looking more closely at some of my biggest references: Jenny Saville, Lucien Freud, and Paco Lafarga. This is one of the paintings I’m considering for World of Crete!</image:caption>

<image:title>Newsletter - March Newsletter - World of Crete, Upcoming Sept. 2025</image:title>
<image:caption>Following the publication of Visual Art Journal’s Art Magazine, a representative from the World of Crete reached out to me. WOC is an immersive art fair that brings together artists, galleries, and collectors from all around the world. They showcase a range of contemporary mediums, including painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media. They asked if I’d like to participate and sent along an application with a list of the packages they offer. After researching the organization and filling out my application, I was officially accepted! I will be showing three pieces at their art fair in September — my artist bio and website will also be displayed. I haven’t decided which paintings I’ll send yet. I’d like to make some new pieces and select my best ones for the deadline in August. Link: https://worldofcrete.com/</image:caption>

      <image:title>Newsletter - December Newsletter - Lover’s Kiss Pt. 2, oil on wood, 12x16”</image:title>
<image:caption>This new undertaking doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about my own work. These past three months have been busy but I still managed to start two other paintings in between projects. This is the second part of my diptych Lover’s Kiss. I continue exploring the same ideas in part one, as this figure is the original figure’s other half, looking back at her. I’ve started with some very thin layers to build up the subtle undertones in the skin. This time I’m paying even closer attention to “what lies underneath.” I want the viewer to feel like they can see into this person through the imperfections and shadows revealed on his face. Almost like their facade is fading away with sleep. The eyes, noses, and mouths of both paintings line up, making them almost nose-to-nose when next to each other. Their mouths being slightly parted suggests deep sleep as well as interrupted conversation. I’m still playing with the distance that will be put between the two of them. I like the story that comes out in both instances of them being close together and far apart. The most important thing however is that they are always looking at each other.</image:caption>

<image:title>Newsletter - December Newsletter - Juice Pouch, oil on canvas, 20x24”</image:title>
<image:caption>This painting is still very “bare-bones.” It’s related to Thursday Afternoon and The Innocence of Youth. I’ve been considering building a whole body of work around these three pieces. Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about how the passage of time affects people — the way life changes from childhood to adulthood. My sleeping figures, to me, feel like a segway into this concept because while I still see sleeping as a vulnerable, exposing state I also see it as a transition. Like when you blink and suddenly five years have passed. Juice Pouch then will be part of the paintings that look at adolescence and the arrogant simplicity that comes with it. I’m still heavily focusing on gaze. The eyes look up and to the side as if looking to someone older; as if looking at what they will one day be. I am still using my palette of greens, golds, and browns to capture that old nostalgic film feel.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Newsletter - September Newsletter - I Can Hear Your Heart, 40x30”</image:title>
<image:caption>My current paintings focus mostly on the truth revealed about a person while they sleep– how that can signify the passage of time and how that passage of time changes relationships. The Couch is all about that feeling of security and peace two people feel as they fall asleep together, lulled by the sounds of one another's heartbeats. The true intimacy of these individuals relationship is almost more apparent with them being asleep and unaware. This painting still needs a lot of work. Major areas include the male figure's face and shirt, as well as the female's jeans. I've been experimenting with different paint applications and thicknesses, The couch is built up of very thin layers while the skin is much thicker. I'm working on marrying these two techniques as well as practicing my control of thick paint, ensuring it doesn't become muddy or flat. I've chosen this specific color palette to give my painting an older feel, so that it comes across as a sensation that perseveres through time.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Newsletter - September Newsletter - The Lover’s Kiss, 12x16”</image:title>
<image:caption>This painting is the first of a two part diptych. The concept of this piece is that you are looking up at a person from underneath, as they sleep. Imagine you could look through the person’s pillow to see their cheek squished, lips pursed, and drool pooling. That is the goal here. The second painting will be much of the same, however the other person will be facing the other direction, making the two figures look at each other. What I’m trying to convey here is that two people have fallen asleep while looking at each other— the way people do when they’re talking late at night to suddenly wake up in the morning, forgetful of how or when they ever drifted off. It is another way of demonstrating the bonds that form as people sleep. I am once again experimenting with thick and thin paint to give the flesh a soft, real feel. I want it to look like it’s fading into the darkness. The way that “gaze” will be used in this diptych is important as well. Even though the figure’s eyes are closed, they are still very much looking at each other.</image:caption>

The photo I was given was a favorite of the family’s— they loved how she was surrounded by plants, a slight smile across her face as she looked at something off camera, the sun shining down on her. I always love when someone trusts me enough to complete this type of work for them. Getting to capture a memory in such a way always means a lot to me.</image:caption>

He was looking for an illustrator to create images for his upcoming book, and after a trial run has decided my work is compatible with his image. I will complete a number of oil paintings for him, including “The Dragon of Revelation” and “The Four Horsemen,” which I will then scan and send to his publisher to be included in his book. I am extremely excited for this alternative way of getting my work out there and seen as part of a professional project. And I am especially grateful that I get to do this using oil paint.
